Setup - Mapping Data to the Help Scout Notes Field
Currently Help Scout does not support custom fields in their platform so therefore you are limited to syncing data over to the default fields within their system.
One field that will be handy is their Notes field for a Customer. As an open text-based field it is a valuable location to dump in some valuable bits of information from other systems.
To use this field in your Bedrock mapping, look for the field called "Background" in the field drop down. While the Help Scout platform calls it Notes, their API unfortunately calls it Background.
In the above scenario I'm adding the segments that a user is tied to in Intercom and sending these segments over to this Notes field in Help Scout. These segments help our support team to know what types of key events our customers have taken in our product that can help in preparing when responding to the customer.
