Eloqua Connector Settings

Thanks for joining us at Bedrock Data!  We're excited to get your Eloqua connector set up so that you can start connecting, cleaning, and synchronizing your data.

Authenticating Eloqua in Bedrock Data

It's easy to connect your Eloqua instance to the rest of your mission-critical business systems.  All you need is a username and password to an Eloqua account with at least the permissions below.  (Not sure where to enable this?  Keep reading - we'll walk you through it later in this article.)

Required Permissions:

  • API
    • Consume API
  • Contacts
    • Set Contact Subscription Status
    • Upload Contacts/Prospects/Companies
    • Unsubscribe Contacts via a Report
    • Change Contact Bounceback Status
    • Manage Data Export
    • Manage Contacts
    • Manage Data Import

Installing Your Connector

  • Navigate to https://my.bedrockdata.com/#connectors/.
  • In the "Install a new connector:" block, type "Eloqua".  Select from the dropdown and click "Install".
  • Enter a username and password in the modal that appears, then click "Save."
  • Your Eloqua connector will appear on the "Installed Connectors" page, and you're all set!

Configuring an Authentication Account

Need a hand getting your user permissions set up?  Read on - we'll walk you through the process of adding a new user group and setting the permissions correctly.  If you've already got a user group and account that has the appropriate permissions listed above, you're all set!  You can feel free to ignore this part.

Set Up a User Group

  • Navigate to the "Application Setup" area by clicking the gear icon in the top right corner, selecting "Setup" from the drop-down menu, and then clicking the "Users" icon on the screen that appears.
  • From the "Users" menu, select "New Security Group."  Name the group and set an acronym that will help you remember what this group is for, then save.
  • Click "Action Permissions" on the next screen.
  • Click "Edit", check off the following options, and save.
    • API
      • Consume API
    • Contacts
      • Set Contact Subscription Status
      • Upload Contacts/Prospects/Companies
      • Unsubscribe Contacts via a Report
      • Change Contact Bounceback Status
      • Manage Data Export
      • Manage Contacts
      • Manage Data Import
  • You can then create a new user and add it to this group.  Return to the User menu and select "Add New User."
  • Enter the user information and email address.  In the "Security Group" section, select the security group you just added and transfer it to "Selected Security Groups."  Under Licensing, check off "Eloqua Marketing Platform," then save.  (If you're using an existing account to authenticate, then just add the Bedrock Authentication security group to the "Selected Security Groups.")
  • You're all set!  Head back to Bedrock Data (and the top of this article) to authenticate.
