How Owner Relationships Work Across Systems

One type of Relationship Mapping that we do is through the Owner-type object in a given system. Here's the current list of systems where we support this type of relationship mapping: 

  • HubSpot
  • Netsuite (Important: If you use Team Selling in Netsuite this feature is unavailable)
  • Pipedrive
  • Pipeline Deals
  • Salesforce
  • Sugar CRM
  • Suite CRM
  • Zoho CRM
  • Microsoft Dynamics 

The relationship mapping will get set up automatically when you click on Auto-Generate Mappings on the main Mapping screen.

With this type of relationship mapping, Bedrock Data will be able to keep your Owners up to date across systems. So if in System A you have an Owner who's name is John Smith and in System B you have an Owner named John Smith, we'll make sure that when John is set as an Owner in one system that he gets set as the Owner in the other for a given record.

Of course if John Smith only exists as an Owner in System A and not in System B, then nothing will happen. So if you want to control Owners across systems, make sure that all of the same owners exist in these systems. Bedrock de-dupes owners by their email address so just make sure they have the same email in all of the systems. 

You can also configure what system is the dominant system for controlling ownership by adjusting the  System of Record settings within your mappings. To do this, just go to the mapping for the object (i.e. Contact Mapping, Company Mapping, etc.) where you want to control how the Owner relationship works and then click on the Relationship tab: 

Once here you click on the Owner relationship mapping and then drag and drop the Connectors around to change what Connector is considered the  System of Record
